Mark Smillie is a serial entrepreneur. He has spent the last 5 years working on a number of ventures related to Retail HealthCare and the “Open Web”.

Previously, he spent his career analyzing investment opportunities while working on the “outside” as an Equity Research Analyst at Alex. Brown, and The Seidler Cos. In Investment banking at Roth Capital and TripleTree. His focus has been in Pharma, Biotech, Med Device, Molecular Diagnostics, Wireless Healthcare and Web 2.0 Software. He has also spent time working on the “inside of companies” like Gilead Sciences, Syntex Labs, consulting companies and and a database software company.

His experience has given him a unique perspective on how companies should be built and run. He is a firm believer in the “Hollywood” approach to running companies as “projects” and outsourcing to tap into the best talent the globe has to offer.

He has been a founder of Stonehenge Productions, Objective Insights, localmo.com, zinsum.com, TodsCircus.com and a variety of other web service companies and a boutique ad agency: SpotOn Marketing Communications.
